Description
The 4G or LAN doorway intercom (AN1912) is a digital video intercom (Multi-Resident) that uses wired or mobile networks for access control and communication with residents. The intercom connects with a server either through a 4G network or wired network and can be configured and managed by a mobile APP.
The 4G door video intercom main functions are video intercom, open door methods (PIN code, APP, QR code), and face detection alarms. The APP keeps an access log and can be configured to record video on an SD card. The device has an aluminium alloy panel with IP54 rating. The AN1912 4G door video intercom can be used in old apartments, elevators, factories, commercial compleses, gated estates, or car parks.
The system is managed through an App or through an online portal allow for quick adds and deletes and changes as required. Manage multiple door stations through the App or portal. Ideal for building managers, service providers, body corporates etc.
When a visitor arrives they enter the apartment / unit / home number on the keypad and the intercom calls the programmed number – this can be a smart phone with the APP or a phone number (audio call only – requires 4G SIM for phone calls). The resident answers the call and can open the gate remotely.
The admin adds the tenant apartment number and mobile phone number through the administrator App. If the phone number is a land line all calls will be voice only. When users register through the App they will receive video calls to the App on mobile. If they wish to receive voice calls they remove their account through the App and delete the App from their phone.
This intercom is surface mount only.

Notes on The App:
The App is constrained by the settings on the Smart phone. With many different types and versions of mobile phones the App may behave in different ways depending on the phone, operating system, and version. We have found that every update (Android or IOS) can change the behavior on the smart phone.
A communications App is not the main purpose of the smart phone (other than the embedded phone and messaging App) and therefore the manufacturers try to manage 3rd part Apps to reduce power drain and maintain security.
There are many settings which influence the way the App will appear and behave:
These can be difficult to set in some phones and this may be the case even with the same operating system in different phones. We deal with many different Apps for communications – Intercom and Soft Phone – from different manufacturers and this is a common theme. The difference with this system is that you can receive calls as audio only and these calls use the SIM to make the call. Other systems rely on a 3rd party server to direct calls to audio and they are a subscription model.
Where the App is an issue on your smart phone you have the option to receive voice calls only and unlock using the # key while in the call.
Support for the App on smart phones is necessarily limited due to the many factors that can affect the performance. The voice call option does work well.
